Lemon Peel Angelfish

Appearance & Identification 

• Color: Brilliant solid yellow with electric blue accents around the eyes, gills, dorsal, and anal fins.
• Juveniles: Have a striking blue-rimmed black spot on their sides, which disappears with age.
• Size: Grow to about 5-5.5 inches (13-14 cm). 

Aquarium Care & Behavior 

• Tank Size: Recommend 55 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock.
• Temperament: Semi-aggressive; territorial, especially towards other angelfish or similar species.
• Reef Compatibility: Use caution; they may nip at corals, sponges, and clams, so a well-fed specimen with diverse food is crucial. 

Diet 

• Wild Diet: Graze on filamentous algae, sponges, and tunicates.
• Aquarium Diet: Needs varied diet including marine algae (spirulina), flake food, brine shrimp, and mysis shrimp. 

Origin & Habitat 

• Region: Indo-Pacific, including Micronesia, New Guinea, and the Eastern Indian Ocean.
• Environment: Inhabit coral-rich lagoons and outer reefs.
