Tank Requirements
Provide mature live rock, abundant small crustaceans and a soft sand bed deep enough for sleeping and refuge; cover the tank. Tank recommendations refer to long-term housing; adult size, tank footprint and existing livestock also matter.
Diet & Feeding
Offer small marine meaty foods several times daily and verify the fish is eating.
Temperament & Compatibility
Keep with peaceful fish that do not outcompete it for food.
Water Conditions
- Temperature: 75–78°F
- Specific gravity: 1.024–1.026
- pH: 8.1–8.4

Maintain stable conditions, good oxygenation and regular water quality checks. Match acclimation to the fish's actual holding water.
Special Considerations
Sand burial is normal. New fish may remain hidden; do not dig them out.
